Summer STEM Program

“It was a great opportunity to be in your STEM program and L had a blast! Thanks for such a good program!”

At the onset of summer break, we had the privilege of hosting a two-week summer STEM program taught by Ms. Nahla Ward. After a year of difficult remote learning, we felt it was important to offer a free in-person camp where children from our neighborhood could gather, learn and have fun together.

For two weeks, from July 6 to July 16, twenty elementary students learned from Ms Nahla Ward and our team of youth and teacher volunteers about how science fuels the way we view the world. This STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) camp led students through fun projects and experiments to foster a love of science. Students made solar systems, volcanoes, lava lamps, battery powered cars and had a great time discovering!

“I just want to thank you again for having J attend the STEM program. He absolutely loved it! Staff is wonderful! He has learned and experienced a lot in the last two weeks! We will be using everything he learned in trying some of these activities and new ones at home. Thank you.”

A big thank you to our volunteers from LFCC, and to you—our donors and supporters—for enabling us to provide important programs for our community!
