Youth Virtual Career Workshop
On Saturday, April 24, 2021, LFCDC hosted a Youth Virtual Career Workshop for local high school students. Students participated in a session given by a college consultant on choosing a career and preparing for a college major. Students were able to meet in small groups with local professionals from careers spanning medicine, engineering, teaching, law, and arts. This was a great opportunity to connect and encourage our youth to achieve their goals!
Some feedback from our participants:
“I liked how interactive it was because of the small breakout rooms. I also liked how organized it was and that we were able to choose our interests before the meeting but also learned about college majors relating to all interests.”
“I loved learning about their experience and the benefits from their careers and it was very great to listening and learn.”
“I like how the careers had variety which made me realize that I have many interests towards other paths.”
“Thank you for this amazing workshop!! I enjoyed it and learned new things!”
