Youth Virtual Career Workshop

On Saturday, April 24, 2021, LFCDC hosted a Youth Virtual Career Workshop for local high school students.  Students participated in a session given by a college consultant on choosing a career and preparing for a college major.  Students were able to meet in small groups with local professionals from careers spanning medicine, engineering, teaching, law, and arts. This was a great opportunity to connect and encourage our youth to achieve their goals!

Some feedback from our participants:

  • “I liked how interactive it was because of the small breakout rooms. I also liked how organized it was and that we were able to choose our interests before the meeting but also learned about college majors relating to all interests.”

  • “I loved learning about their experience and the benefits from their careers and it was very great to listening and learn.”

  • “I like how the careers had variety which made me realize that I have many interests towards other paths.”

  • “Thank you for this amazing workshop!! I enjoyed it and learned new things!”
